Consistency is key. It’s common to hear people say that they’ve been grinding for 10 years to no avail. They’ve been trying so hard and they just can’t seem to get ahead. My question to them would be:

“How consistent were you those 10 years?”

If you record a few songs one week, then take a week off. Then send your songs out to people for a week or so, then take another few weeks off, you’re never going to get anywhere. It takes momentum to get a career running and up off the ground.

To build momentum takes consistency.

You must do something toward the fulfillment of your career goals every single day. That’s just the case. If you desire to be a successful entrepreneur, then in the beginning stages, you must put one foot in front of the other every single day. No exceptions. One of my mentors shared with me this metaphor:

“Building a business is like pushing a rock up a hill. When you first start, it will take all the strength you have to get that rock moving up. If you let go anytime before you reach the top of the hill, the rock falls right back down to the bottom and you have to start all over. But if you keep pushing everyday, you will reach the peak. And here’s the best part, once you’re at the top it will simply roll down the other side.”

Does this make sense to you?

You have to keep pushing until you reach your tipping point. And once you tip, it gets a lot easier.
