How To Stay In Your Zone

We’ve talked before about the zone, I want to share with you some recent insights I’ve had about it. Plain and simple, things work better when you keep to a daily routine. As simple as it sounds, the importance of this truth has hit me like a ton of bricks.

You see, I can be sporadic. I’ll spend a week knocking out classics everyday, and then spend a week watching movies. During that week where I’m working everyday, my tracks come to me more easily, I wake up with different ideas to implement in my business, money is flowing, I’m in my zone.

During the week where I’m watching movies and not working as consistently, business slows down, I have to “try harder” to make a hit, I just don’t feel as vibrant.

Now of course there is nothing wrong watching movies and chillin’ out, I’m simply stating that when you keep a daily routine of work, things simply work better.

One of the keys to this daily routine is waking up early every day Monday through Friday. I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but it is what it is. When I wake up early, I just feel better and get way more done than when I wake up at 3. It’s like waking up early sets my day up to be productive.

This is common sense.

I’ve noticed that the most profound truths in life are often deceptively simple. So take it from me. Get into a habit of waking up at the same time, everyday, monday through friday, and consistently writing songs everyday regardless of how you feel. If you keep this going for at least 30 days, you’ll notice that you can get in the zone so much easier than before.

I guarantee it.
