Time Is Of The Essence

Time is of the essence.

Every minute you spend on something other than your dream is a minute you no longer have.

Lots of people feel discouraged because they look at their finish line and compare that to where they are now and feel overwhelmed. They can’t see how it would be possible for them to win a Grammy one day when right now they’re struggling to simply keep a roof over their heads.

I have good news for you.

It’s been done.

Of all the successful people I’ve studied, all of them have pointed to consistent action as one of the major keys to success in any endeavor.

Say you are looking at two parallel lines. If you take one of those lines and turn it one degree to the right, you wouldn’t notice much difference in their trajectory at first. You would follow the lines a few feet and they would appear to still be parallel with each other. But if you continue to follow them a few miles you would start to see a drastic difference. They start to separate. Follow them out a few more miles and the lines wouldn’t even be close to each other.

Does that make sense?

Small consistent action over time sometimes seems like it’s not working in the short term, but in the long term it makes all the difference.

What that being said, what action can you take today toward your dream?

Do you have a song done that you’ve been putting off recording?

Get on it.

Have you been telling yourself you need to write some new records but have been doing other things?

Get on it.

Say you’ve already got some dope material recorded and now it’s time to book a show.

Get on it.

Small consistent action over time is what separates the successful from the not successful.
